Conference List Scams

Warning: Conference List Scams Targeting ACFE Members

Recently, there has been an increase in conference list scams targeting members of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE). Conference list scams generally involve unsolicited emails offering to sell attendee lists for professional conferences, such as the annual ACFE Global Fraud Conference

The ACFE has investigated these purported attendee lists multiple times. Each time, we determined that they were not authentic lists of ACFE conference attendees.

This is a typical email offering an attendee list for an ACFE conference:

This email is an example of conference list scams targeting ACFE members.

Please note that the ACFE does not sell conference attendee lists to third parties. We also do not provide comprehensive attendee lists to sponsors or exhibitors.

If you receive an email offering an ACFE conference attendee list, it is a scam. As with any email scam, you should not respond to the sender or provide them with any personal information. Members are encouraged to report these messages to Legal@ACFE.com.
