Commitment to CFE Exam Security and Integrity
The Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) credential is recognized globally as the standard of excellence in anti-fraud expertise. Maintaining the integrity and security of the CFE Exam ensures that all candidates are evaluated fairly and that the credential retains its credibility. The Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of exam security to prevent misconduct, protect exam content and uphold professional standards, allowing all candidates to have an equal opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge and skills.
Why Exam Security Matters
Maintaining the integrity of the CFE Exam protects the value of the credential and ensures that all who earn it have demonstrated the same level of professional expertise and high ethical standards. Any compromise to the exam process undermines the credibility of the CFE credential and the anti-fraud profession as a whole.Combatting Misconduct
To ensure a fair and secure testing environment, ACFE implements the following safeguards:Comprehensive Proctoring and Monitoring: The CFE Exam is proctored both remotely and in person through Prometric, our official exam delivery and proctoring provider, or by trained ACFE staff. All testing sessions are conducted in a secure environment, with real-time surveillance to ensure compliance with exam policies. All exams include identity verification, continuous monitoring and strict testing protocols to maintain exam integrity.
Confidentiality and Protection of Exam Content: The CFE Exam is confidential and proprietary; reproduction, distribution, sharing or posting of exam content in any form is strictly prohibited. Candidates must agree to the CFE Exam Non-Disclosure Agreement and General Terms of Use before beginning the exam, and our exam delivery platform is secured to prevent access to external websites, applications or screen-capturing tools.
Data Forensics and Analysis: The ACFE employs data forensics and analysis to identify anomalies in testing data and detect suspicious testing patterns indicative of potential exam misconduct. Such abnormalities or suspected instances of improper exam-related activity are thoroughly investigated by our Legal and Exam Integrity Teams.
Web Crawling: The use of unauthorized materials, exam dumps or third-party sources that claim to provide actual exam content is a direct violation of ACFE policies. The ACFE conducts routine online scans to detect and take action against potential theft of intellectual property that could compromise the integrity of the exam.
Recognizing and Avoiding Unauthorized Training Materials
The ACFE strongly advises against using unlicensed training materials that claim to prepare candidates for the CFE Exam or provide access to its content. These unapproved providers are not recognized by the ACFE and often distribute inaccurate or misleading information. Using such materials puts candidates at risk of insufficiently preparing for the CFE Exam or facing disciplinary action if they are found to have had pre-exposure to actual exam content, whether knowingly or unknowingly.
We do not license or authorize the release of CFE Exam content or study materials to third-party learning platforms such as Udemy or similar informal education sites. Any CFE-related material found on these platforms has not been approved by our organization and may be inaccurate, incomplete or in violation of our confidentiality policies.
To ensure you receive accurate and ethical exam preparation, we recommend that you enroll only in licensed CFE training offered directly by the ACFE or through our Authorised Training Program.
