Additional remote proctoring technical requirements include:
*The webcam can be external or built into a laptop, but you must be able to move it around to conduct a full room scan.
**Please position your device where you can receive the strongest signal. For the best experience, please use an Ethernet cable to connect directly to the router, and make sure there is no additional load on your Wi-Fi connection from other users such as streaming videos, music, or games. Lack of signal strength during your exam may cause you to lose connection to our system (your exam). No VPNs or virtual machines are supported.
***Please note iPad/Android tablets and Chromebooks are not currently supported. Microsoft tablets (Surface or similar) can be used only when configured in laptop mode.
Once you schedule your remote proctored exam, be sure to check your system by accessing the demo exam. This demo exam includes the enhanced system check for ProProctor (remote proctoring application) to better detect any issues before your exam day. This will test your operating system for compatibility to install and run the ProProctor application and ensure the launch of your remote exam. Failure to do so can result in delays in exam times, and possible reschedule fees.
Please note, you will have to complete the system readiness check, download the ProProctor application and launch your exam in order to access the demo exam and enhanced system check.
For remote testing, we generally do not recommend using a work computer or VPN network due to potential firewall, permissions and security settings that might not be compatible with the software. Although some candidates have success testing from a work computer, we suggest using a personal computer or choosing a test center to complete your exams. If you choose to test remotely on a corporate computer, make sure you review the following instructions:
PCs
Macs
Connecting your computer through a VPN (corporate or personal) will limit performance of the exam delivery software and may cause the software to block your access completely. You will need to disable your VPN prior to your exam. Reach out to your company’s IT support team for assistance on identifying your VPN and disabling it. If you choose to test from the office, we strongly recommend you involve your IT team to resolve any issues, including potential firewall issues, long before test day.
