ADAA’s Knowledge Center to become an ACFE Authorized Knowledge Center

The Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) and the Abu Dhabi Accountability Authority (ADAA) have joined hands to assert ADAA’s Knowledge Center as an ACFE Authorized Knowledge Center, marking a major milestone in ADAA’s efforts to provide professional advanced training and support to Abu Dhabi government entities and employees.
The Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) and the Abu Dhabi Accountability Authority (ADAA) have joined hands to assert ADAA’s Knowledge Center as an ACFE Authorized Knowledge Center, marking a major milestone in ADAA’s efforts to provide professional advanced training and support to Abu Dhabi government entities and employees.
Under the agreement signed at the 2018 ACFE Fraud Conference Middle East held in Abu Dhabi on Sunday, The ADAA Knowledge Center can now promote and offer the Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) Exam Review Course. This recognition of the ADAA Knowledge Center as the only such Government training facility in the Middle East authorized to provide this specialized training.
H.E. Hamad Al Hurr Al Suwaidi, Chairman of ADAA, said: “The recognition of ADAA’s Knowledge Center as an ACFE Authorized Knowledge Center underpins our decade-long effort to encourage the adoption of ethical business practices and transparency within the public sector in the UAE. This is a strong testament of our commitment to promoting the highest standards of governance in the Emirate, which are central to achieving our leadership’s vision of progressing the UAE to rank amongst the best in the world. Building the strong foundations for transparency and accountability are key to a more competitive and dynamic economy and the recognition by ACFE will enable us to share our experience and best practices to all Abu Dhabi government departments and entities.”
H.E. Al Hurr added: “As the region’s first and only ACFE approved Knowledge Center, we will continue to support more than 300 public entities in Abu Dhabi to promote accountability and transparency, and will help build expertise in international best practices.”
Under the terms of the agreement, ACFE grants ADAA permission to promote and offer the Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) Exam Review Course and to coordinate the course. Only Abu Dhabi government employees and staff of Abu Dhabi state-owned enterprises can attend the Courses at the ADAA Knowledge Center.
ACFE President and CEO Bruce Dorris, J.D., CFE, CPA, said: “We are happy to establish the ADAA Knowledge Center as the first ACFE Authorized Training Center. Education is one of the most powerful tools in preventing fraud and the ADAA has shown their dedication to the anti-fraud cause; not only in hosting the 2018 ACFE Fraud Conference Middle East, but in their continued emphasis on learning and training for Abu Dhabi government employees.”
In a keynote speech at the 2018 ACFE Fraud Conference Middle East, held for the first time in Abu Dhabi, H.E. Al Hurr highlighted the importance of the event and the role of ADAA.
“The goal of this event is to come up with lasting solutions and recommendations to support all participant nations in addressing fraud and corruption challenges. Whether you are from the private sector or the public sector, from the UAE or from around the world, together we can work to devise strategies to mitigate these risks.”
ADAA is charged with enhancing and promoting transparency and accountability across the Abu Dhabi government and semi-government entities, ensuring they are able to manage and utilize their resources and funds efficiently, effectively, economically, ethically and in keeping with the overall Abu Dhabi Vision.
Now in its third edition, 2018 ACFE Fraud Conference Middle East brings together 400 anti-fraud experts from across the public and private sectors to discuss and explore the latest trends and tools in fraud prevention and detection and share their experiences, knowledge and ideas. The conference covers several aspects of fraud-fighting including critical and controversial topics such as emerging cyber frauds, data analytics, anti-fraud strategies, virtual currencies as well as strategies for using the internet and social media to instigate fraud.
