UAE Ministry of Finance to Host 2023 ACFE Fraud Conference Middle East

The two-day event will be held in Dubai on 8-9 May, 2023, returning for its eighth annual conference in the region.

The Ministry of Finance of the United Arab Emirates will host the 2023 ACFE Fraud Conference Middle East. This region’s premier anti-fraud conference will take place on 8-9 May at Hotel Fairmont The Palm in Dubai.

This conference brings together anti-fraud professionals from public and private sectors and will provide a platform to exchange ideas and expertise, as well as discuss the latest trends and tools in fraud detection, response and prevention. Keynote speakers for the conference include Jamal Saleh, Director General of the UAE Banks Federation; Hala Bou Alwan, Founder and CEO of Hala Bou Alwan (HBA) Consultancy; and Nina Schick, author, entrepreneur and Generative AI expert.

Her Excellency Mariam Al Amiri, Assistant Undersecretary for the Government Financial Management Sector at UAE Ministry of Finance, said in a statement: “The Ministry of Finance is keen to continue supporting the UAE’s ongoing efforts in combating fraud and maintaining the stability and integrity of the fiscal system, and we are committed to enabling a robust fiscal performance in the UAE. Breakout sessions of the conference will cover a variety of fraud topics, including the evolution of fraud in the global financial market, the importance of technology in anti-fraud programs, fraudster profiles and cyber fraud trends, and a leadership panel on how to navigate fraud-related compliance and ethics challenges. Subject matter experts and executives from Standard Chartered Bank, NMC Healthcare, Central Bank of UAE, NEOM, First Abu Dhabi Bank, BEEAH Group and more will share their insights and anti-fraud experience with attendees.
